AFTA 2010: How We Should be Acted



Today, AFTA is being worried many people in our country and solution or the right step from the government yet. Actually, AFTA is not a new thing that is made and presented by the countries around ASIA, but it was made before.
Applicants of AFTA on January in 2010, but, once again, this agreement was made before. So that, government should know and have the right solution to our country in forcing its.
The explanation in briefly, ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) is a form from the agreement of many countries around ASIA, especially the ASEAN countries to make a free trade area that able increase economy competition power in ASEAN regional area and make ASEAN become basis of world production with compose the regional market for 500 million their inhabitant.
AFTA is formed in High Level Conference (KTT) IV of ASEAN at Singapore in 1992. The beginning of AFTA was hoped as basis of world production that will be received for 15 years (1993-2008), then was made faster into 2003, and last was made faster into 2002. Scheme of Common Effective Preferential Tariffs For ASEAN Free Trade Area (CEPT-AFTA) is a scheme for AFTA pass through : decrease of cost up to being 0-5%, loss of quantitative limited and another no cost resistant. The last development that closely linked and independently about AFTA is there’s an agreement to losing all cost of import the production for Brunai Darussalam in 2010, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, and for Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam in 2015.
The output of government wisdom to AFTA policy in the country cause many protest from many realm in the country. Not only from businessmen, but also from another realms, even medical employee. Of course, the protests that still come and unceasing have the real and forceful reasons. Not only a protest that coming from nation to the government, but also there are demands about their right to looking for their basic necessities of life in the country.
The matter that being the major reason of Indonesian people that refusing AFTA agreement is the beneficial that unfair and oppressive to some country. For example, in trade or more commonly the free trade where China free to commodity enters Indonesian country. The production that was made Indonesia lose to compete with Chinese production, even another country. It because Chinese and another country better in quality and you can get them with the cheap cost.
One of another reason to get Indonesian production is prestige. Indonesian people is not proud to using Indonesian production. But actually, they have as well as quality in that way.
